On-call schedules
By default, a routing rule alerts everyone in its target group. On-call schedules let a rule alert only whoever is on duty right now.
On-call scheduling is a Pro feature. Schedules are also entirely optional — rules ignore them unless the rule's On-call only toggle is on.
How it fits together
- Schedules belong to people. Each subscriber can have any number of schedules — weekly recurring ones ("Mon–Fri, 09:00–17:00, Europe/Berlin") or one-off shifts ("July 12–19").
- Rules opt in. A rule with On-call only enabled alerts only group members who are on duty at that moment. Rules without the toggle alert the whole group, schedules or not.
- Escalation can widen past the schedule. A common pattern: first alert on-call only, then escalate to the full group if nobody acknowledges.
Setting schedules
- Per person: Dashboard → Subscribers → Schedule on any row.
- Rotations: Dashboard → On-Call → Rotation wizard — pick who rotates, shift length, and how many cycles; FlowAlert generates the one-off shifts for you.
- The week at a glance: the On-Call page shows who's on right now and a 7-day grid of coverage. Ended one-off shifts sink to the bottom, marked as ended.
⚠️
Schedules live in a timezone — set your workspace timezone in Settings, and check the clock in the dashboard header: if it shows a UTC warning, schedules may fire at the wrong local time.
